Buying items on Amazon Germany

Has anyone from the UK or outside of Germany bought goods before?

I've logged in using my UK account details but the site rejects both my current VISA cards upon entering the correct three digit CVVs (card verification values).

Any help please?

edit: Problem solved. I was trying to enter my CVV in a field for gift voucher and promotional codes.

Should't pay extra vat within EU. Correct me if I am wrong.

Thats true, it can be charged at the rate in the sellers country or the rate in the buyers country.
