S2 Valuation Help

Last week Tuesday in London we had snow. I was driving my daughters ford Fiesta, I was only doing around 3-5 mph as you do. Go outside ov my home, got l side by side with the S2 ready to reverse park behind her, when all ov a sudden I heard a noise seconds after I was jolted from the passenger side which then pushed my right hand side into the S2s passengers side. It was some bird doing around 35-30 in the snow. She hit a car on the left, thats the noise I heard before she hit me.

Anyway long story short, employed a solicitor to organise engineer assessment. The report says my S2 worth £1500, salvage £150 so net worth £1350. (they put repairs at £3500) Im so mad coz it's worth more, now I have to prove it....any ideas? Ive looked for 'sold S2 Quattros' on google but am only findin 'for sale' which I assume doesnt prove much...

So anyone have evidence of 1994 ABY S2 sold prices?
Or do i get classic car company to value it...?

Gutted for you, happens too often. There are quite a few threads dealing with this sort of thing it's worth a search. One important thing is to keep hold of the car, don't let them take it away else you might not see it again. If it is written off you can usually buy it back for ~£100 and then sell the parts or even put it back on the road. Some good advice here:

A few of us have had issues with insurers... you'll have to drag it out over a period of weeks. They'll find a car on autotrader for £2.5k and try and fob you off with that... tried to give me £3k for my coupe, aparrently the recent full rebuild and declared mods didn't add anything to the value. Took £3.6k in the end and agreed to remove the "value-less modifications"... they were pissed when the entire front end - engine included - were gone. After some negociation they got a box of old (stock) bits back with the car and I got my money and my engine

Get some print-outs from Autotrader, pistonheads, etc for Avants with similar spec and money and send them on. They seem to look over mods when it comes to value so concentrate on the mileage and leather... I did this, still got the usual "these are only a few overpriced examples" (when there were no other coupe's for sale at the time) but eventually they upped the price 20% and decided to negociate on parts included, as they wouldn't let me have salvage rights.

Stick to you guns, gather loads of evidence, and when they give you crap be ready to give it right back. If they tell you the mods aren't worth anything, say OK that's fine but I'll have them back then... if the car is only worth £2,000 then ask them where their evidence came from and rip it to shreds, and give 5 examples of why your car IS worth £4k...

There are a few S2's for sale on here, carandclassic, ebay & pistonheads, I don't know how they can expect you to get proof or actual sale values as these aren't publicised! So get together a dossier of adverts it's then their job to prove that they sell for much less.

The culprit is the Beetle, The Fiesta I can live with, just a few scratches om S2 wing,broken lens, but not sure about the wishbone & tracking, who knows.

£3.5k damage? Where? New wing & light are about £400, then paint and labour on top.

Valentines massacre? I haven't seen the film. I am referring to "Goodfellas", insurance engineers when faced with people like that who don't stand for nonsense wouldn't dish out nonsense but instead behave themselves!!

When I had my car assessed after a minor knock, I also had to argue the case for repair with the insurer.
I was asked to provide adverts of similar cars for sale (not sold prices).
