    transport a car?

I am off to see couple of S4's this week so might be in need of transport as both are not taxed/mot'd. Due to my age I am unable to rent any type of vehicle, so would need a company/person to transport them to me.

Anyone on here could give me a hand (at a cost of course), based in Leeds myself.

Or someone could suggest a company to use?

    Thanks

I know someone with a flatbed based in Banbury, PM me for details if it might be convenient.

I got some quotes from deliveryquotecompare.com a few months back if you can't find anyone to do it as a favour. I didn't end up buying the car though I can't comment on the delivery service itself.

Thanks guys. I got some quotes from delivery quote compare and they seemed decent.

Depends where from and to. I know someone here in Stoke on someone in Notts too.
Shiply is good too as long as you don't mind waiting for quotes.
Do you have a tow bar?
May be cheaper to hire a trailer and collect them yourself.

One is about 120 mile round trip, and another one is abut 60 mile round trip. I do have tow bar, but don't have license to use the trailer.

It is worth being able to tow a car trailer.
They're cheap to hire for a day-plenty on offer in various locations on eBay.
I've had a couple of trailers and recovery trucks.
Trucks easier to drive/manoeuvre but more hassle if they break down as AA etc don't recover them, but they will a car and trailer.

Need to watch the plated trailer weight and the gross train weight if towing (car must be able to tow the plated weight of the trailer even if you are not going to fullyload it), can a 100s4 tow a 100s4 legally?

                          U catching up bro.
As for s4 towing I don't know. Try the handbook guidelines.
I tow with a discovery td5- think train weight is high as it can tow 3500kg

From memory the train weight of a urs4 is about 4000kg. So an empty car with just driver can tow about 2250kg. So a 500kg trailer and 1750 kg urs is just about legal.

Depending on your license it's a bit of a grey area but the plated weight of the trailer is not important as long as it is greater than the load. Eg could be plated at 3000kg and still be ok to tow with a urs.

I think a case was taken to court when someone was pulled for towing a empty high plated trailer. You can't be done for having the capacity to overload if you aren't actually overloaded on a old licence. But of you have a new licence it's the plated weight that is important not the actual weight.

                            Stupid laws.
