I don't think Carl was complaining about the fact he got caught, more the fact that he was convicted without any hard evidence.

I know, annoying ... I don't have a plate on the front and despite the copper saying in court, nothing came of it ... it was only as I slowed right down, once he'd stopped, and went past that he saw my rear plate (of course) ... come the summer, the rear plate will become one of those itsy bitsy teeny weeny motorbike ones hung by 2 cable ties that might flap in the wind.

I never admitted the actual speed, not in court or on this forum, nor could the court establish speed ... this was the rub ... and as far as evading an unmarked ? this was his fault and how I managed to make him do that I am definitely not explaining lol

You said the squad car was doing a ton, doesn't take the brains of Britain to work out how you established that.

It's up to you if you want to drive like a tit in view of the law.

Two police officers can estimate the speed, and then it is admissible as evidence.... hence the conviction.

Oh, and another smart move announcing that you are fitting equipment to allow you to break the law more often -at least that's how they will see it if they find it

Two cops are evidence enough. Especially, when they have a job to do where they have to be concentrated- like an accident, or driving with blue lights- and despite that they notice you. He followed them fast- that is forbidden. Nothing more to prove.

                  Smart move.

Take it on the chin and maybe learn a fairly obvious lesson?!

How can the testimony of 2 cops be evidence enough?
In my country the police must prove without a doubt (with actual evidence, not words) the felony you are being charged.
In my country only APPROVED hardware can be used to charge somebody for speeding.
I just can't believe what I am reading, the testimony of 2 persons can hold in court for something like speeding.
In my country we have sued the police at CEDO and CEDO decided that the police men cannot benefit from authority, the police men must prove with actual evidence (no words) the felony you have done.

They are taught to estimate speed, if they agree, then that is it.

There is a solution to all this

So if me and my passenger say that we saw on our GPS from our phone that actually our speed was 60 km/h , the testimony of the police men would be more ok? Because why? They are not regular persons?
That is why in our country you must have actual evidence, not the "taught eye of a police guy men". It's ridiculous really, 2 persons (cops)agree you were speeding by judging with their eyes and BOOM you're charged !
I thought we had bad laws but it seems you have even worse laws.

As I know, he was not charged for a numbered speed, but for "excessive speed". I actually don't know the laws and paragraphs in his land, but here in Germany, you can be charged for something like "dangerous behaviour". Maybe it is kinda that thing. And it is 2 cops against 1 guy. If there is 2 witnesses saying yes, and the accused is alone- getting difficult for him.

But believe me- in Austia that "guess" thing for policemen is law. Well- it was few years ago. Maybe they changed it right now, I don't know. Policemen guessed and that was as proven. It is ridiculous, and theyoften used it, when they saw german cars. A bit to often IMHO...imagine the surprise for german drivers that did't know that and were "caught"

Yes I've heard that in Austria the testimony of a police man is like the word of Jesus
