I just went to tax my s2, and discovered That i have owned for twelve years and my s6 for 14years. Thats the longest I have ever owned a car on both counts. Just wondered how long the rest of you have owned your cars, and how much you paid for it. Mine cost me £3750 with over £20000 in reciepts.
How long have you owned your s2

1st July 2000 and paid £10k. Haven't dared to total up 15 years worth of receipts but I have them all...maybe one day when the wife is out I might

Since 2002 wouldn't dare add up the bills, paid £10,000 for it and realised fairly quick I bought a bit of a dog.
Shame because the owner before the one I bought it off had RS2'd it then the guy I bought it off had swapped all the engine bits back

, left all the body and brake mods on though so some good bits left

It's had its fair share of issues Lou but nothing like the pain you have had over the years, that is safe to say. In some ways I had you to thank for plucking up enough courage to get mine on stands and remove the engine and replace the steering rack etc having watched you learning as you go on here

my current avant I've owned for 7 years but my previous "Stu" was not long enough only 2 years....as for spending on the avant I try not to think about it....I just think its cheaper and less painful/expensive than drinking/gambling/smoking...
I paid £5k for it...and spent best part of £1600 in the first few months of ownership...and it is the longest car I have ever owned...Comment

About 6 years and im just about to take the subframe off the back for a tart up... Im not looking forward to it... After seeing the engine bay half empty the other year for the headrebuild the subframe is not so daunting.

whats left of it, 8 years.
bought the car for 5.5k. under 100k all the bits i wanted on it. cost nothing to fix or get right, a fair bit to get how i wanted it. depends if you buy it to mod or drive or both. either way mod gets the better of you eventually.
i spent about 2k under the bonnet, 2 k in electronics and 2 k in chassis. would cost bout 12k to do those things now i thinkComment
