For "starters" (literally maybe), do you have all the proper OE wires connected to that switch. See the diagram below (that I took the time to find and annotate for you):
first 30 = thick red
second "30" = thick red
75 = black/yellow
P = green/yellow
86S = thin red
50 = red/black to J59 X-contact Load Relief Relay (power flows through it to other devices AFTER the engine has started (or at least the switch has been turned to the run position) = could include some circuit fuses like S12.
50b = thin black
15 = *SWITCHED* POWER thick black that will feed lots of fuses, like S12, etc.
The X-contact load relief relay is the "213" lurking in the shadows behind the spare fuse holder. It is labeled 213 and I think the PN is 443951253J. 443951253J was dropped 01/10/2000 for an 8D0951253 (which I think is labeled "370") that in turn was dropped in 01/01/2006 for a 7M0951253A (which I think is labeled "100")
I think you should seriously consider checking and/or replacing the X-contact load relief relay.
