Fake parts identification/info thread

Wa already have the 044 fuel pump fake thread, but I decide to do another thread for different fake car parts/acssessories/tools you have come across with. Well know out there is a massive amount of different fake parts, for example Tial wastegates.

I did recieve a fake turbosmart boost tee. Couldn't tell it was a fake. Only on dyno we realised it's not working properly. The adjustment was all too harsh. Only five klicks(about a half turn) and I got over 2,5bar boost. With a genuine boost tee it's more like 3 full turns before I get 2,5bar. It's much more accurate.

Only the package can tell it's a fake. There is one spelling error there.

Sad isn't it, that people can get away with such blatant counterfeiting
It's easy to see the fake side by side, but without a real one maybe you wouldn't know.

How was price difference?

Price(wise) was about 25-30 euros difference to genuine part. I suspect the seller wasn't aware of the fakes either... maybe..? It was an ebay seller from Australia and he claimed he was only selling genuine items. But when I showed him the fake vs genuine pics he refounded the whole price including shipping costs(after an half year after buying). And seems now the price of these boost tee's have now gone up to "normal" price, so maybe he has genuine stock now..?

I'm not fully happy with the Turbosmart customer support either. Did send them two emails, because wasn't sure about the fake thing back then. But never got any replys.
