Pressed or cast rear upper wishbone on avant

    Hi guys

How can i tell which I have on my avant? I only ask as I want to order some bushes for it and dont know which i have. Im no mechanic so am trying to figure it out as I go with a little help here or there.

Anyone have any pics handy for me to see which is which or if there is an easy way to tell? And before you say it, no i cant find any seam lines down the edges of them and im not sure if that means they are overly corroded lol.

    Cheers

Thanks Eric... Mine do not look like that. Not so big and square (similar looking to angle iron almost). Mine must be cast then.

        Cast are thin and solid.

Pressed, as per Eric's photo, are 'folded' metal and therefore 'bigger' and thinner.

I'm sure there are photos of cast rear ones in the For Sale section.

If you're buying em ones post the relevant part number for future reference.

So which are stronger out of interest?

I might be able to see if I can make out any part numbers on mine and will post them up. Im not buying any others unless mine break lol.

I think cast might be stronger, well less likely to bend. In a moment of stupidity I managed to bend my pressed ones. I was able to straighten them, had I made the same error with the cast, I would have cracked them. (I tried to remove the bushes without proper support).

Anyone got any advice on what or where to get rear track rod arms from? I assume they come with the bushes and the ball joints on/in them already?

Sorry, I meant the part numbers of the respective bushes rather than the wishbones.

Ahhh no, sorry, im getting poly ones to fit. I can give the powerflex numbers and will investigate the bushes in the arms to see if I can see any numbers as I have noticed this week some of the old bushes have markings on them some dont though.
