Can anyone shed light on how difficult a job it would be to swap an auto box to a manual?

See there is an S6 for sale for £2500 but auto or an S4 for £3400 and its manual tough decision!

BTDT nothing difficult if you are handy with spanners and can understand the differences between manuals and automatics (ETKA is your friend).

ETKA is a parts catalog, you can use it to look up part numbers for VAG group cars.


Mine is a 97 Volcano black car, its the last model year (stronger 6 speed gearbox) so has the plus spec stuff.
its on 185k, would need to look at the paperwork to see what history its got. Its a standard car.
