having always had a compressor in the garage I sold my big compressor a few weeks back as I was trying to clear a bit of space in the garage.
the old compressor was a snap on one which being honest none of it was original
when I got it the pump and motor were both knackered.
I fitted it with an old pump from a compressor that had been up the back of my dads garage for as long as I can remember and the motor started life on a laith.. but it all worked and built up air but it was a tad on the big side for in the garage..
so I went looking for a 100L belt drive compressor... ( ive had direct drive and hated the noise plus at least with belt drive parts can be replaced )
I looked at 2nd hand but there was nothing local that was worth the money that they were asking in my eyes.. so I went looking at new compressors.
I spotted a few in machine mart but they were all around the £400 mark then I spotted an Wolf Air on Amazon and eBay for £250 delivered...
I was a bit wary about it but I read the reviews on Amazon which were all good and spoke to my mate Neil who is a sealey agent and also repairs compressors and welders for a living..
he said he had came across them and he rated them as a good machine..
and again being belt drive once its out of warranty.. parts can be replaced easily ( ie pump or motor ) so I bit the bullet.. It was ordered Saturday and I paid an extra £5 for express delivery.. it was dispatched monday and arrived tuesday.
it came well packaged and with a bottle of compressor oil and was also filled with oil.. so after sticking a plug on it and fitting the wheels away it went.. its fairly quiet and gets up to pressure fast. its a 90l tank and rated to 14cfm
its on wheels which makes it that wee bit more practical for me.
I had to change the coupling on it to match up with my tools but I had one in the garage so no big problem.

so far ive used the air gun on it to pull the wheels off the trailer which it coped with fine and also stripped my mates rear top mounts off his struts with it.
Ive also had the cut off saw on it and it run that fine.
I turned the cut off pressure up a bit as it was cutting off around the 110psi mark where as now its going to 135psi ( pressure releif valve opens at 145psi )
so far im impressed at the quality of it and so was my dad.. which says a lot!!
the pump looks to be better quality and slightly bigger to the one that was on the snap on compressor when I bought it.
so if anyone is looking for a cheap compressor youll not go too far wrong with one..
