Never ever too far distance for appreciating some good roads, and any excuse to get the beast out on the open roads too, all about timing for when most people can meet at one time, you all know about the wee meet up in Scotland right, 23rd May? As far as I've seen mine is the only RS2 in the line up, would be great for more to appear as if by magic, and a good chance to hear some thunder in the glens too...

There's very little I'd enjoy more than blasting around the Highlands, well not stuff I could write about here anyway I've been tempted to just turn up at one of the Scottish meets and surprise you chaps, the roads and scenery up there are simply awesome in the literal sense of word.

Where are you meeting up and what sort of route are you doing? I know the Highlands well, I've driven every road north Stirling apart from a couple of minor routes around Aberdeen. Have done the lap from Oban up to Durness, over to Wick and back down the A9 few times now.

We're meeting at Loch Lomond then heading to Fort William for the night, through glen Coe, stopping a few places for pictures, and pee-pee stops. Then the next day take off from Fort William to Malaig, get the ferry over to Skye, drive up to Portree for a brew then down over the Skye Bridge and round to Applecross via the Applecross pass. From here it's anyones choice to take a route back home, but I think if weather suits you come over the Applecross pass turn left and head for Loch Ness, get a brew at Urquart castle then south the the Commando memorial near Spean bridge, just as a suggestion. There are a couple of mapped out routes in this thread - - -

Will be fantastic for another 1 or 5 RS2's to turn up. However we are some of us booked into a hotel, or camping for the first night, so if you have time and can do it is best to book a room up there as it's bank holiday weekend that weekend....

Sod it. That route sounds cool to me, the pass over to Applecross is quite something, did it a few years back in the fog so couldn't appreciate the view. On my last excursion I stayed in Kinlochewe for a week and explored the surrounding area as far as Gairloch and Inverness, before heading over to Ullaoople and up to Durness then around the north coast (via Dunet head) to Wick.

Just had a chat with Charlie and he's up for it weather permitting, so that'll be two RS2's along for the jaunt, sod it we both burn at least £80 worth of V-power every weekend anyway so may as well head up the M6.

Where do we need to find accommodation?

Will check the thread out now

Hello, yep that was me tearing up the road out of Clyro, thought that was an angry flash not a friendly one! Yeah I'm up for this meet in Scottishland, hopefully my super RS2 will be ready by then, fingers crossed. I'll need to stow a couple of jerry cans of V-Power if it is...

All being well and the car being ready this example will really be quite something, Charlie's being cagey with the final spec, even with me and I'm his best mate, but if VRS have it done in time expect a true 550BHP work of art.

Going to be putting the stock springs back on mine this weekend so they have a chance to settle before I get the car tracked in a couple of weeks ready to go. Also going to treat to her new Aux belt's, NGK plugs a new OE air filter as well as swap out a couple of boost/small bore hoses and fit a full overhauled PCV system. Also got a PAS pipe I'd like to replace but this isn't 100% essential as is getting my aircon working but if I can get them sorted in time I will.

Got some suitable rubber on there ready,as well as a fresh change oil change with Fuchs Titan Pro-S 10-50.

Really looking forward to this, as Alex pointed out I'm not sure how a West Mids/Wales meet has move 400 miles north but we'll get another run sorted around here in the summer. Couldn't turn down a blast around the highlands and the opportunity to drive the best roads in the UK, which I was planning on doing in the autumn anyway.

We're planning on leaving here at 3am at the latest on Saturday morning, it's a great time of day to be driving and will get us north of Blackpool by 7am so we should avoid heavy traffic on the M6. I love a dawn bast, especially with a brace of RS2's

Hopefully my brother is going to come along for the jaunt, passenger in my car.

As I've mentioned Charlie and I will be heading North to Durness via Ullapoole, we'll be sticking to coastal roads as faithfully possible, means a good few extra miles but the scenery is well worth it. Will probably stay in Ullapoole or there about's before setting of for a lap of the far north, via Durness and over to Wick. Might then head inland down to Lairg as there's a decent enough hotel there, from there we'll make for the A9 then south.

Anybody who wants tag along is very welcome, but we'll be play it by ear and the route is open to detours such as around the Kyle of Tongue and up to Dunnet head.
