A friend uses Porsche Bristol to look after his 996 as they're often cheaper than local specialists! Not heard of anything being NLA...

Porsche are great to deal with after one has had to put up with VAG's attitude towards customers.
I ended up breaking into my own car once by smashing a window, as a new one from Porsche was only ~£30. I've even had the dealership send me parts in the post. I got a sump plug sealing ring once, just stuck in an envelope for no extra charge.
I've never had to wait any time at all for parts. Compared to getting parts for my S2, or even my Lupo, I often have to wait 2 weeks for parts if they're not NLA. I mean, what sort of company makes rear dampers obsolete only a couple of years after production has ceased? Not much has changed since the days of RS2 under headlight trims. It's a shame you can't get more parts for them from Porsche.
