Last week I wanted to spend sometime on the Checking things over and a bit of maintenance. As it started to rain I thought I would check for codes etc and play with the mmi.

So first I connected my vag scan tool to check for codes. When through its thing and came up with a communication error.

So I got out my laptop with vagcom and jap lead. I checked communication with ports. All ok so went to check engine codes which it started scanning. It also came up with a communication connection error is ignition on message. Like it can't find engine management.

I know I have a error code as EML is on. Previous owner had it checked and its a swirl flap fault on bank 2. Now I have done the job I can't reset code to see if it is fixed.

Any ideas or suggestion welcome as I have a remap booked......

are you sure your scan tool/vagcom are canbus readable?most vag cars from about 2007 aren't able to be read with the old type of stuff

Mate used another vag tool today no joy. Looks as if your right Spink.

He also tried a snap on tool which worked. Codes checked and cleared.

Guess I need a new version vagcom for this car.

Torque pro app works on my car also.

Very handy tool for monitoring sensors etc.

Checking charge air temp which on full boost 22.5psi is between 37- 47degrees C
