Hi kit there's a place in Aberdare called A&N tyres that have the Hunter system the guy couldn't do my car has I had two top mounts shot but I have had good feedback from friends that have Quattro and all have been good, there is also a place in Tredegar called Idigo Gt that also have the Hunter system also good feedback from my Nephew and his mates who are with the Jap car seen, both charge about £100 spondooly's to do the job at least they are a bit tad closer than SUNNY old Brissol .

I'll need my Avant doing sometime in the next couple of months I think you'll be my first port of call being so local. Rather someone with a competent working knowledge of old Audis fiddle with my car for reasons made evident by this thread!

Lucky escape Kit, no doubt they'd change their tune face to face.

I don't take being called a lair lightly and besides Charlie had the front end aligned on his car by VRS on Thursday and that didn't start to fall apart and he drove the same roads and speeds as me.

I'm going to be stood there tomorrow morning when he arrives to open up.

That is frightening, you had a very lucky escape!

I hate having other people work on my car, not much choice with an alignment though. I lifted mine and checked straight after the last time on the A4, and sure enough they had twisted both boots and torn one (new rack, boots, adjusters and ball joints the night before)

Good luck and keep calm tomorrow!

Why can't people just be honest when the make a mistake, dogs, I had a similar thing with Pro Tyre in Enfield few yeas back after 2 days the strut bolts came loose on the M25 they denied it could of been they're fault I didn't get anywhere with complaints so just slated them in feedback forums and never went back complete and utter canutes

Yeah, I said on the phone that I understand mistakes happens and was very reasonable only to be called a lair. That almost pisses me off more than the dangerous state they left my car in and is why I'm going to see him face to face.

If he doesn't apologise for the the way he spoke to me (a customer) I will be unleashing hell on him, trading standards, solicitors letter, the lot. I doubt much will come of it but at least I'll get the satisfaction of wasting a lot of his time and losing him some custom.

The guy is a first class prick.

I'll likely be filming the encounter as I have no plans on assaulting him now I've calmed down, he's a fat old fart in his 60's so he posses little threat but the lad in the workshop who did the work looks more handy.

                      Just returned from Newport,

This is Orchard Motor's customer services, after the brief advert.

Deliver immersive shopping experiences through shoppable video to as many customers as you want. Expand your reach and boost your sales in one place.

I was starting to loose my temper hence the slight stuttering and I also forgot to say that I didn't see a torque wrench being used. Obviously the mechanic was becoming aggressive towards the end so I had to walk away at that point.

The boss plainly hid in his office.

Trading Standards is the next port of call.

Just spoken to my local trading standards who have advised me to write a letter to the proprietor quoting the 'Supply of goods & services act 1982' and to outline what I want to resolve the matter. Which is a refund of the £60 it cost me as well as an additional £140 to cover my fuel and wasted time.

Which considering they nearly killed me I think is pretty reasonable.

If I get an unsatisfactory response they will then get on his case, they have also noted details of my complaint.

Wow thats quite shocking, could have been a lot worse. Lucky you have the driving skill and knowledge to sort it before anything really bad happened.

The garage is clearly going to deny it, as it's their word against yours. However, we all know if these were all torqued properly theres no chance they'd come loose. Just because they were tight when the car left, doesn't mean they as tight as they should be. 16000 miles is not enough to work these loose let alone 1600

Well done keeping your cool under the circumstances.
