    sparepartstore.co.uk

Has anyone ordered from/ dealt with the above company. I have just ordered a clutch disc and pressure plate. They have contacted me wanting a photo of my credit card and a photo of my driving licence/ passport. A bit suspect? Anyone experienced similar?

      No idea about that company....

I had to send same info when WITHDRAWING from Betfair after the grand national, they stated to erase/cover all but the last four digits on the card.

New rules apparently (id confirmation/anti money laundering, etc) - may just apply to betting / non uk based?

Cant see why you would need it when paying for goods tho? That does not make sense.

Sorry guys, the website is sparepartstore24.co.uk. The site looks ok and is based in Germany. They do say to only leave the last four digits visible. I suppose they may need to confirm the card is mine and I am who I say. If I cover the main number I don't suppose it can do any harm to send a picture, so I might give it a go. Thanks for your help.

I ordered stuff from them, paid via paypal though, which was handy for getting my money back when it turned out they did not have the clutch in stock, wanted me to wait XX weeks, I think they just order stuff as you order it.

Yes this is a clone site of bestpartstore and many others - note the contact details. There are clone sites in most EU countries aswell. They do not hold any stock but dispatch from the supplier. Good prices as they have no overheads. Bad service and they keep your money for ages when they can't supply. As Andy said, use PayPal.

                As above
Ordered a clutch kit which was 'in stock'
Asked for my money back after being told it was damaged and then the supplier had no stock etc. which went on for a few weeks
Money was paid back swiftly though so can't fault there but overall service was very poor
