    Alignment & Kwik-Fit

Just been talking to brother and he went to Kwik-Fit to do an alignment on his A80, and first time round they put in 13 plate A3 as a car, and after couple of visits they manage to do alignment but told him camber DOESN'T MATTER and they charge extra for camber adjustment

    How stupid are they?

Anyone had experience with Audi, as I need alignment done on mine and seems no-one can be trusted?

Audi are expensive but you'll get a leather sofa with a nice cup of coffee served by a lady in a tight dress...

Had a TT done at Audi Bristol and while they got the front sorted and the rear thrust angle sorted, the only reason the car went to them was to get the rear set properly, which they did not do and they found a load of other things that 'needed' replacing, so the owner ended up spending a small fortune and still didn't get the rear tracking right

If it was my car, I'd have pushed the point and ignored their advice on the other parts but circumstances were very complex, so all the work was done to minimise stress.

For my S4 they want ÂŁ114 all incl. and garages around charge ÂŁ95 + VAT so it isn't that expensive.

Why I want to go to Audi is because they know Quattro and they'll have top of the line machinery.

I've heard about mysterious parts that need replacing etc. but I'll make sure all tie rd ends are fully working and not rusted before handing it to them.

These are the guys for tracking, after taking mine to 4 different knobheads these are the only people who cared enough to get it right, well worth the drive up.
Car was on the ramps for 2 and half hours and still only charged ÂŁ80

All the big companies, i.e, Halfords, Kwikfit, Central Tyres, Pro Tyre, and the rest forget it the are all wa..... you get the picture I'm sure. All they try and do is mug you off and sell you stuff you don't need and still don't track the car up right, Pro Tyre in Enfield left my strut bolts loose and nearly killed me

                              That's exactly what I thought

I wouldn't take a two wheel drive car to any of the major place's let alone a quattro, best bet is to find a small local company that care and know what their doing.

                              Easier said than done though!

I did have what I thought was a good place in Newport, but they left stuff loose and like Rikki nearly killed me.

I'm going to FCM on Rusty's recommendation next time.
