    Nurburgring Insurance?

Hey guys just a quick one!

Im passing through Germany and fancy doing a lap of the ring.
Is there any thing out there so I can be covered for this lap.
Sky insurance have said they wont cover the ring.

The ring also state that insurances do cover but they will chase you for the cost (third party).

Also it changes to a trackday cover If certain parts of the ring are closed.

Any ideas here dudes?is there a perfect solution to make this work?

I don't use insurance on the ring. Its a race track and crashes will happen, however if your sensible and not trying to race locals in GT3's then you should be able to keep it on the black stuff and avoid incident.

Insurance is very expensive as the risks are high. 7

Make sure you keep an eye on your mirrors as I guarantee things will come up behind you faster that you think possible.

That's the boring naggy stuff out the way. It is also the greatest track ever, I spent a weekend there in my old 911 and despite not setting any amazing lap times absolutely loved it. Cant wait to get back there again!!!!

Its petrol head heaven and there is just a really good vibe.

my insurance explicitly excludes the ring; since legally it is open road it should be covered if not excluded.

Don't chase a time and you will have a blast. Also for your sake and others, check the underside of the car is leak free....if you drop fluids you will not be popular and bikers gom down on it very easily, then the bills can start mounting up!

If a biker went down following your car dropping fluids the result could be worse than bills.
Which ever way you look at it, it's a risk.

Basically... you don't have insurance and there is nowhere to get it. If you drive it you do so at your own risk... so bear that in mind

If you do crash you can argue that your insurer is legally required to provide 3rd party cover given that the 'ring is a de-restricted one-way public toll-road (i.e. a normal road as far as zee Germans are concerned), which is true, but then your insurer will pursue you personally for any expenses they have incurred.

thx greg!!! still stuck in germany tho :// .... grrrr .. problem is these old audis / or older cars need these lesser parts to be replaced.. ie rubber etc ..
Annoying!!! will after this garage her and go through an enitire replacement plan to avoid breakdowns...

The cars great .. but at almost 20years the smaller parts will start to fail. :/
Gotta get it dynoed also as uncles feels that its got mor power than 270-290bhp. haha . will see.

Here in the states, I have my coupe insured with Hagerty. When I do Audi Club HPDE days, I call Hagerty and get insurance for track days.

They can have my car when they pry my cold dead fingers from the steering wheel.
