Export vehicle from UK to Austria

I have had someone ask if it would be possible to export an Audi S2 coupe to Austria.

I have never sent a whole vehicle abroad apart from parts, would anyone have any information on how to go about this?

I am also checking around google to see what I can find but it all seems complicated

I've a mate that buys range rovers in Europe, somwtmes goes across empty or part loaded (24ft trailer)
He may be able help you

In winter cars and trailers need snow tyres!

If he's talking about a fully road legal car then it should be as simple as driving the thing over via tunnel or ferry and registering it when he gets to Austria. It's complicated in countries like Finland and Malta, which charge import taxes, but most EU countries it's only a matter of a fairly small charge for admin and an MOT in the new country. I've driven from Glasgow to half way up Finland so I can't help thinking that a wee drive in an S2 from the UK to Austria would be quite nice

If it's not road legal/not driveable then yeah, it would need to be trailered or sent in a container.

just realised this will be the 3B you're selling. so yeah, trailer would be good. If someone in Austria wants it he should be willing to organise it though. I'd be wary of someone making you go to a lot of trouble when you don't know how genuine they are. The buyer could get quotes straight away from Shiply

I had someone from Austria wanting an aby coupe taking over last year.
I arranged it all and the same delivery guy went to the trouble of getting snow tyres.
The. The buyer sends a message saying his house boiler is broken and he can't buy the car.
May have been genuine but a pain in the ***** time waste just the same
