I've got a Sealey CP2400 too, it is a little bulky compared to newer ones, but for the money it's hard to beat.

        Cheers all.

Plug in is not an option, as the car is not near a 240V supply.

Don't really want to spend much over £100, which is real entry level, so my expectations are realistic.

I'm after something that I can primarily use to change wheels and get off nuts / bolts that are a little corroded and need to be shocked.

If something has access, I can use a breaker bar if needs be.

Sealey 2400 or Clarke CIR220 seem to fit the bill and budget. They both seem to have their limitations but at that price, they all will...

You can get a CP2400 for £120, probably the best bang for buck, and pick up an extra battery at some point.

            http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sealey-CP2...item2ee3c19702

We have a Dewalt one at work, but it was £300+. It is 3.6kg, so not light to work with one handed all day, also bulky.

Impacts are great, even just for running stuff in and out.

Yes, the 2400 seems to fit the bill. 2450 is a little more money and a bit more powerful.

Weight isn't much of an issue, as doing it all by hand is hard work, so horses for courses...

Have had my Snap-on cordless impact at track events where the "other" brands failed to take wheel bolts off. Pricey but worth it.

If wheel bolts are to tight to take off with any gun i would think they are to tight.

Snap on pricey but worth it
Get one with a knackered battery and have it re celled and uprated
I did for about £80. Lasts absolutely ages.
I used mine in early August last year to strip a coupe and then didnt use again until two weeks ago (built s house extension in between car breaking) and the battery was still charged enough to strip an s4 down

Looking at the options, the Clarke only does 220Nm, so is out. I think the Sealey options are best for the money (new) and will keep an eye out secondhand too

Do you not have an air powered one?

                          There's a Clarke 240V one on amazon for £65.

I'm pretty sure Milwaukee make snap on impact guns (was speaking to a local industrial supplier) euro car parts have deals on them for trade customers can check tomorrow and see what they have ??

Ingerso Rand W7150 end off. Expensive but you get what you pay for.

Bought one of these a while back, it out performs anything on the market. Takes of I5 crank bolts that have rusted solid by just holding the damper pulley by hand. Even managed to crack loose a 1.8t crank bolt that someone had fitted with loctite green.
The guy that had build the engine failed to mention that whilst stood next to me as he didn't think the gun would get it of (I was there to inspect and report against the guys incompetence), so the first time I attempted to crack the crank bolt of the kick from the gun hit my right hand knuckle area so hard it was swollen for a cpl of weeks and 3 months later still hurts if I exert force through it. Undeterred at the time though and to proof a point I braced it with both hands and full body weight and spun the bolt of after around 10 sec's of intense full load. The guy stood there gobsmacked. Best of all though is the control you have it can be gentle to the extend you can nip up tiny m6's without exerting any final torque on them.
