No warranty implied or given means the trader is limiting your rights which is against the law.

The trader / dealer is responsible for faults on that vehicle even though it may have been ok at point of sale = latent faults.

I sued a trader who tried to limit my rights under SoGA 1978 and CPR 2008.

They trader thought I was bluffing when I told them the that my interest charges on the money they owe me since Oct 2014 are £88.88 per day.. They paid up out of court

It makes no difference if sold as trade sale or not, the vehicle is unfit for the purpose it was purchased for and if the vehicle is unfit the trader is responsible.

If bought at auction then your rights are limited.

Well it s all a little academic as we don t know what he signed or what was said so we do not have the facts. It would seem the fault described would not however render the car as not fit for purpose. While we all want the best our money can buy it must be bourn in mind that this is an old used car and maybe sometimes our expectation exceed our budget. Whatever the outcome I wish him well with his Vauxhall

He is a dealer as a plot etc. I did sign to say there is no warranty which.may stuff me a little. But knocking him from 3700 to 3500 Is a very small amount. I would expect it to last more than 40 miles. And not gas me in the process..

It makes no difference what you signed or not either, you have legal rights to vehicle as per advert. If it stated the vehicle is a douch then you bought it as is but if the advert does not pin point every single fault then the vehicle is considered fault free and as should be fault free no matter how minor or the age of vehicle.
