I've been playing with waxes recently and Armour all shield is the business, piss easy to apply, lasts ages and works great on plastics, rubber, wheels. I'd dip my cars in it if I could. Although technically its not a wax, it's synthetic, which is why (I think) it makes the muck wash off easier.

Notice soft cusso 99 came second, must be good, and I've never tried the bilt hamber double speed wax which came first.

Following some research, i'd gone for the Bilt Hamber, as a mate has just bought some HD wax and said I can use that if necessary and for my needs, the price of the BH is somewhat more acceptable. I drive and spanner my cars a lot more than I clean them, so it made sense. If I get it resprayed, then I'd more than likely budget for a DA polishing kit and some deecnt products, to protect my investment but in it's current state, it cleans up well enough but not amazingly.

^^ That's pretty much what i do whenever i get a new car, spend a day on it to make sure it's immaculate and do the full works with Gtechniq - alloys, bodywork, glass, carpets, fabric, leather etc.

The C1/EXO combination makes it pretty much self-cleaning and provides fantastic scratch-resistance for 2-3 years. It's the most durable and maintenance-friendly solution i've come across but it's not cheap.

Pretty much nothing sticks to it though and i find myself only really cleaning the car once very couple of months now - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i8_TQGDN3GQ

What's wrong with a drop of fairy liquid and the wife's floor mop?

Andy, have you tried using the Autoglym Extra Gloss Protection over Super Resin Polish?

Its a much cheaper product than the HD wax, and i have to say i find it very easy to use.

Providing that you have a nice pH neutral/balanced car shampoo that wont strip it off afterwards i find it last months and months with a nice satisfying beading on the car after washing.
