    So what now.....?

As some of you may now know last week the red mist descended and finally gave up on the s2. With that now gone and most of the parts I have collected over the years either sold or up for sale I now find myself asking, "well what now?"

There's no question I want another toy but what do I go for? What would be a suitable replacement for the s2? Do I go newer or older?
What I do know is, I never want another project.

With that in mind and around £4k to spend what recommendations do people have?
I do quite like the early Audi s3 but just not sure whether they are special enough?

Any feedback, experiences good or bad from past cars you have had will be greatly appreciated. I can then write a list and go off and do lots of test driving

    Thanks all in advance, Dave

Love them but should maybe add it needs to fit in the garage
Only had about a foot and a half spare length when the s2 coupe was in there.

Allegro with an S4's 4.2 V8 and running gear in it? ah no. that would count as a project.

S3 sounds interesting for sure if you don't really need much space.

Sub-£4k, needs to be special but not a project. You're not asking for much

An S3, or TT would probably be as close to fitting the bill as you're likely to get.

You can get an okay BMW 635csi for that price or an E36 M3 that needs TLC.

I'd always go for the older, cooler car with more personality, but can completely understand why you'd want to avoid another project. When I sold the S2 I got the Mustang as my never-needs-touched daily then a mega-project 635csi.

Ok maybe 'special' is a little bit optimistic for that price range.
Ah the 635csi! Now thats a nice car! I may have to give them a look

Track car and daily are out.

Love light and agile but will settle for heavy and pwerful

                      More power the better

                      No preference to driven wheels

Again no preference to forced induction or NA

Reliable would be a bonus due to past experiences!

                      Rust, hmmmmm not so much

Ok then how about a 2005 TT Sport - The limited edition 240 bhp edition. They're rare sporty and starting to increase in value

Good call! Hadn't even considered a TT and a 240 bhp sport edition wouldn't be too hairdresser-efied

i'd be very tempted to make a cheeky offer on this and have the minor body work sorted out. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2014450464...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

**edit** just noticed the bit about water leaks and misfire. you'd need to take a look and be confident you knew the problems I guess. maybe this is leaning towards "project" again?

undamaged I'd expect a similar car to go for around £5000 and change. This one finished at £5300 recently but has been relisted

of course without a turbo you're limited in possible power gains later. the NA curse!

Mate, keep saving a bit more and buy a already done car like an Evo V or VI for ~ 6500/7000

You'll have 4 doors instead of the 2 of the S2, decent trunk, very good brakes and suspension from scratch, 300bhp... And only with a remap ~ 360bhp

Forget expensive and heavy Audi B5 stuff

Don't buy with hurry and make up your mind
