I'm sure I saw that somewhere else that it'd sold? Again. Could be wrong.

          For the money and the fact you want something reliable, not a project but you want some type of special feeling I would go for either;

          Honda S2000

Good luck whatever you end up with
Coming from an S2, its the same weight, more power than a stock S2, same power as a chipped S2, better weight distribution, noticeably better handling, less traction under acceleration.

Its definitely not anything special like the S2 was, its just a car. I miss having a proper car, now I just have a "fancy" car like everybody else who bought one. However I like just getting in it and going for a drive without all the hassle of an old car. Also miss the turbo shove up the back from RS2 spec, its much less dramatic as the revs just rise, rather than WHAM, though nice and linear is easier in the corners.

350z or S2000 was my final choice, S2000 is more go karty and pure, light and chuckable, I still fancy one, but it is small and buzzy, 350z has so much more torque.

          S2000 is a thrasher, 350z is a GT car.

Are you after a 2 seater or 2+2?

S2 coupe was actually quite practical I am starting to realise now, you could fit a lot in it.

2+2 would be good but am open to anything right now because still haven't 100% decided

At the rate of interest in these cars i'll probably still have it years from now. Shame really as it's no longer in use and just parked up. Itching for a new owner

Agreed. I guess maybe a bit of easier driving with power available over a wider range is welcome but I sold the S2 a while back and since then, nothing has come close (within reasonable budget) to the smile factor it gives. The S2000 gives smiles but fails on various other stuff.

I suppose there is no perfect car but I do miss my S2. Apart from the mileage I do and the lack of economy from it, for me, it was close to the perfect car. Add another 20mpg to it and I would have kept it and used it as a daily. Sadly those figures do not reconcile with the fun factor.

this is a really good thread...

All the cars that have been listed so far do nothing to increase my enthusiasm to hop off to something more modern for hat budget. I was looking very hard at the V8 S4's but whilst the spec is nice, I'm not sure it will make me smile in the same way the S2 does. Think it may just be time to get her painted up nicely, lift the spec to RS2 and keep it another 15 years

That is the thing with the I5 20vt, it just keeps giving, revving and ovvo can be "doctored" to satisfy any BHP deficit that an individual feels they should not have to put up with. The feeling and noise the i5 engine gives cannot really be replaced for me (apart from more cylinders and bigger turbos)

The fundamental problem here is you're thinking about one car. I'd like one of each that have been listed

yup- that's why we're enjoying this thread- we all fancy a change every now and again and return to our wish lists..either literally or just dreaming... this has been a realistic list too...

damn it, I thought that M5 on Lewis had sold ages ago....don't you just hate temptation

Just a hunch Rocco but do you like Mitsubishi Evo's??

I feel from what I have read all through this thread that I now have the answer to what I should probably buy......another s2!

Is there anyone that's sold their s2 and glad they did??

Another S2 may be the way forward, having had one you would buy another much more carefully.

                                If I was to buy an S2 again I would buy a "good" ABY, clean body, no major mechanicals, then;

                                Service/timing belt
                                996/314 brakes
                                RS2 turbo
                                RS2 exhaust manifold
                                RS2 injectors
                                RS2+ software

Then enjoy using it and tinker (one bit at a time so its never off the road for long)
                                17x8 wheels
                                Koni shocks
                                Re bush as required
                                Exhaust to taste
                                Uprated intercooler
                                Seats
                                etc

It will always be an older car, so will have associated issues.

I really miss the traction, you could get on the throttle so hard and early compared to a 2wd car!

I do not miss the front end push on turn in, I think that would be hard to go back to, but its really just a different driving style.
