Power Inverter for 220 Volt in the Car ?

I wanted to be able to use an apple laptop in the car and wanted to use an inverter to give me mains power in the car.

Is this any good or does anyone have any other suggestions or comments ?

    Thanks.

I have one of these and use it to power my Apple power supply:

    Somewhat cheaper

        Hi Johne,

Agreed, but mine needs a three pin plug for the mains supply/charger, as far I can see.

I presume I cannot power it from a USB connection socket on the side of the laptop ?

No, you can't use the USB port..............

The 220 volt invertor does take a UK 3 pin plug.

Grand that's what I thought about connecting the Laptop.

Thanks, the photo in your first link didn't show a three pin plug.

I got a 12 v dc to laptop dc converter for my pc. It's adjustable from 15 v to 20 v dc I think and came with various adaptors to suit the laptop. No point going from dc to ac back to dc again.

As Des says a DC to DC converter is best like the one johne suggested, assuming its the correct voltage and high enough current for your device.
