Stay the Fork away from Yodel

They have officially lost 2 packages simultaneously, collected from separate addresses and going through different depots. Both 48 hour Yodel services. one is 1.2x1x.1 metres and the other 1.2x1x.3 metres so not exactly small either. what a waste of time and money. and I don't get to claim the costs back because I didn't pay extra to insure the packages. I really object to paying extra for insurance with these clowns. Surely I'm paying for them to safely transport my goods? It's the only thing I'm paying them for. And I have to now pay extra for insurance in case they can't do their jobs right? That's a bit like me running a restaurant and telling the customers to pay for insurance in case I food poison them (which I will take no responsibility for).
Of all the services over all the years this takes the p155.

They are all pretty bad but Yodel are very near the top of the list for me too. We have got most of our stuff but they have a habit of simply throwing it over the 8 foot gate to leave it in a safe place!

They are all turn inyo a nightmare sooner or later, usuallyjst before theygo budt. I have been using ipost parcels for last 6 months and they have been good so far and cheap for next day delivery, they also give you a one hour slot when they will be collecting unlike some others who make you wait indoors from 8-6 and still don't turn up!

that would be an improvement for me mate. I think they may have a pit at each depot that they use to throw parcels into.

I do 100% agree with everything you wrote Nj, you pay for a service and expect them to do just that. Insurance for loss of goods is the wrong way round if you ask me.
And how they manage to lose a parcel that big is beyond me, losing two is almost impossible

I have had an issue with Yodel as well, I used PostNL to deliver a parcel in Ireland. Turned out they use Yodel over there and Yodel sent the parcel back to PostNL as they could not deliver. No message left at the addressee whatsoever luckily it didn't get lost

Parcel2go (using UPS) or DPD have always been best for me both uk and abroad
Paisely managed to break a v6 front bumper and refused give compensation even with insurance-said they don't cover breakable items!
Just had a refund and nothing else

parcel 2 go service is ***** if ever a problem arises. For the last 5yrs or so I use UPS via interparcel.com Gotten to know my driver and there is a note up in the local depot to deliver before 9am and collect after 4pm. Very effective next day service from them although a tad dearer then the cheapies. Then again you get what you pay for

I have used Yodel in the past as I send 100+ parcels a week with my business. .That was until I discovered UPS and DPD who are in a different league all together.

Now I can send a parcel to almost anywhere in the UK at a very reasonable £3.30.

YODEL are a shamefully bad organisation and not even competitively priced.

Especially around Xmas when they use poorly trained seasonal staff, that couldn't give a fook.

And if you ever have to claim, well you may as well

DHL brought a parcel from America for me, I tracked it on-line and it took longer to get from the UK depot to my house than it did to get from America to the UK. They sent it to the Glasgow depot, which would be OK for delivery out to me but the claimed to have tried to and no-one was in. Someone was in all day and no-one came and no card left but by the time I found out they had decided to send it to the Edinburgh depot and wanted me to collect it from there. WE argued, they agreed to try again and did exactly the same thing, didn't turn up, no card etc, parcel returned to the depot. Finally got it about 3 days after it came into the UK, hopeless. Clearly they are a big US company who are fine over there but useless here. Feel your pain I have to say, at least they didn't lose it

Yeah I have mostly used P2Go with UPS, ParcelForce (surprisingly good internationally), TNT and others. This is one of the first times I used Yodel and definitely the last.

P2G has now refunded both delivery charges and pretty much told me they don't give a f**k that they have lost both of my packages. I'm so frigging angry right now. Maybe I'll start a social media campaign. Twitter is definitely good for this.

I'm stunned Paisley Freight wouldn't pay out even when you had insurance. So they don't cover breakable items? Everything's bloody breakable. Just depends how incompetent the courier drivers and depot people are.

thanks mate. I think I'll be changing to Interparcel now. and back to any other courier other than yodel.

this baffles the **** out of me when couriers claim repeatedly they have carded when they obviously haven't.

"Yodel" you would wonder where they got that name from, doesn't sound very like someone taking parcel delivery seriously does it, stupid name!
