Bit of a stupid question but what year did cats, become compulsory on all cars was it 1992 or 1993 ? On another note I renewed both cats on my A6 2.8 quattro last week I heard a rattling noise from under the car after putting it up on ramps I found the noise no nothing was hanging off but tapping the cats the rattle was coming from inside looks like both have collapsed took the off and when you shake them what a rattle took them back to the supplier result sorry only 1 yr warranty after spending £500.00 on cats that's an expensive 1 year warranty ,

Look here this is mane manufacturer for these cats and they give minimum 2 year warranty so your motor factor is playing games with you!i would ring this company straight away and tell them what happened!
