Lots of parts suspended in ongine oil.Could be bearing parts. But i never ever saw an engine that broken the bearings to look like that.I mean scores on pistons even on the upper side of the rings. This looks strange....

Oil changed before you first started the engine? If yes,how did the old oil looked like?Or the oil was removed prior to shipping?

Have you blasted some parts of the engine? You or the engine builder?

The intake manifold was closed(with a cap or a rag) during shipping?Do you still have pics since you recieved the engine?

The engine was shipped with oil cooler mounted? If no,the outlet and inlet from oil filter housing to oil cooler were blocked with caps or other methods?

Do you have pics with rings and top of the pistons?

The intake hoses, air filter housing are/were clean before running the engine? Also the intercooler...some pics inside it will show if intake was free of particles, from turbo to intake. Some pics with compressor blades(i understand you had 2 turbos on the car) will show if intake was free from filter to turbo.

I am trying only to see what was wrong,i am not interested in other debates. It might also help you to understand the problem and find a solution...

If you still have the oil filter, cut the metal layer and open the filter itself and look for strange particles.

What seems to be the black "dirt" on the lifters?

Another Sweeper "special", that's almost funny. I bought the 3B engine Sweeper had before this PK Motorsport one. It was build with a new factory spare part bottom end and "only" had 1200km on it. And it was pretty much ruined with a big turbo and bad tuning right from the start. Sweeper kept on insisting that it was only clutch problem why he took the engine out and bought new one from PK motorsport. That must been a one hell of a clutch problem since it scratched the the cylinder walls among other things. The price of the parts was so low I knew from the start there was something he did tell, so the real condition of the parts wasn't a suprise to me. Actually it turned out to be a good deal for me, I only had to throw away the crank and one piston, other parts where still usable.

In this case, my quess is Rocco got ****ed by Sweeper 6-0 and tried to recover some of the money he lost. The sad thing is, buying parts from this forum's members nowadays seems to be a very bad idea. I've bought a lot of parts from ebay and maybe lost my money once or twice, but buying from here every second or third deal seems to go bad. That's very sad. I say this as a member of this forum who has been around since the forums first step in early 2000's.

From memory prj tuned this motor again with Rocco and it ran according to their saying really hard and really fast. So even if the original engine maker cut corners, the engine was working.

The lifters, are you sure they are not modified solid?

A few years ago I also bought parts of Rocco and I must admit that I also had to wait a few months before I had the pieces
it was a tubular manifold, tial waste gate,034 dumpvalve and a dsy gearbox that was overhauld.i had no problems with the pieces but the gearbox is still waiting to go in the car(not had the time yet).i hope the gearbox is okay now i read this stuff on the forum

i'm pretty sure you have oilpressure problems when I look at the bearing shells

This is a difficult situation for both parties.
A lot of time and events have happened since the engine was sold and now. Even if the OP had bought this engine direct from PKM my feeling is that they would not warranty this failure for several reasons:
Too much time has passed and many things could have occurred during this time.
It has been installed and worked on by a 3rd party
It has been mapped by a 3rd party
It has had a turbo failure

It is easy to say now, but the engine should have been inspected on delivery. That is the first thing I would have done and i would have expect any professional mechanic to do the same, especially if they suspected there were problems from day 1.
Running any engine that is making "strange noises" is a bad idea. Attempting to power map an engine that is not known to be 100% is at best foolish.

                        OK here's my 2c

Firstly I've had numerous dealings with Tomas and he's been nothing but honest and genuine, I find it very hard to beleive he would have knowingly sold this engine in the condition that it's in now.

Something has happened to it since it was removed that has caused it to fail, my guess is that it's not been stored correctly. Were you present when it was first fired up? Was the engine primed to get oil around it? Did it even have oil in at all??

When you started it and it made unusual noises, your mechanic should have been telling you to stop and investigate as it was obvious something was wrong, don't listen to Thomas, he's not a mechanic and he's 1000's of miles away, this is what you're paying a professional mechanic for. Running it and trying to map it after this was only going to end in disaster im my opinion involved.

I feel your pain that it's ended like this bit I feel you're being a little unfair to Tomas when there are so many unanswered questions and so many other people.

got some a few parts from rocco and never had any problems..
if i would buy a new engine i would at first change all the gaskets and take the head off to see what i bought..

Would do the same. And like said before it's never a very good idea to buy already built engine.

Still, it all sucks though. :/

This is a difficult situation for both parties. I would suggest you speak to each other directly if posssible to explore what's happened here. An online slagging match isn't going to cure the situation or identify what's happened. Rocco's been onto the forum, he should respond to you directly if he's the genuine seller most seem to believe he is. I hope you can identify what's gone wrong and work it out with him.

The engine was well packed - forestalling all the rest ... just fell over during transport to the side.

It is easy to say now, but the engine should have been inspected on delivery. That is the first thing I would have done and

i would have expect any professional mechanic to do the same, especially if they suspected there were problems from day 1.
Running any engine that is making "strange noises" is a bad idea. Attempting to power map an engine that is not known to be

                                100% is at best foolish.
As has already been pointed out - my big mistake - I could disassemble engine when receiving ..

This does not change the fact that the engine is completely inconsistent with the description! :
                                - No mechanical glasses, only hydraulic and what the funny thing - with a welded hole ..
                                - The engine had driven well over 15 - 20 thousand kilometers - simply seen ... not as advertised 5000
                                - The destruction of the photos can not be done after driving 100km
and so forth - read the description and then view photos ...

Firstly I've had numerous dealings with Tomas and he's been nothing but honest and genuine, I find it very hard to beleive

he would have knowingly sold this engine in the condition that it's in now.

Something has happened to it since it was removed that has caused it to fail, my guess is that it's not been stored

correctly. Were you present when it was first fired up? Was the engine primed to get oil around it? Did it even have oil in

                                at all??

When you started it and it made unusual noises, your mechanic should have been telling you to stop and investigate as it was

obvious something was wrong, don't listen to Thomas, he's not a mechanic and he's 1000's of miles away, this is what you're

paying a professional mechanic for. Running it and trying to map it after this was only going to end in disaster im my

                                opinion involved.

I feel your pain that it's ended like this bit I feel you're being a little unfair to Tomas when there are so many

unanswered questions and so many other people.
In order not to dramatize - these sounds were not sprawling engine sound ... my mechanic (he had already five Audi S2 and

one Audi Quattro B2, and repaired a lot of this type of car) and I had already dealing with the 2.2 turbo ... for the rest

                                ...

Here in Poland, this situation is simply cheating the whole meaning of this word. If you are defending him because he was an

intermediary in the sale - not knowing what's inside - why I buy the engine from him based on the description I have for it

                                suffer the consequences ???

Why, if clearly agreed to the low compensation of 500 euros - stopped talking?

Unfair to Tomas... I think you don't read everything...

For the rest of the users who write to me, with a good word ... thanks for your support
