I used the 10w60 (syn ester) in my old passat, because of the oil pressure problems and because it was cheap, as the passat is just for transporting tools and wood. Currently after 2000km the oil is still clear (not black) and seems to be working significantly better than 10w40 i was putting in before with the same price tag.

So i researched and found that they do actually have VAG, Toyota and other manufacturer specification accreditation (at lease had in the past) so I poured 5w30 in my Avensis and went off to drive to Romania (note: I am from Latvia). Seems to be working ok.

I too was very sceptical because of the pricing, but it seems that it is produced in Lithuania, so due to low shipping costs to Latvia it is very cheap here (20 EUR for 5 litrers of syn 5w30). Anyways by far the best cheap oil.
