    Grinding noise when turning right

    Hi All,

My car s2 coupe ABY has developed a horrible grinding noise when turning right. It's a very metallic noise. Sounds like something is rubbing against the bottom of the car.

Have had a look underneath and can't see anything obvious.

It drives fine and there is no vibration coming through the steering. Just a loud grinding noise.

    And help appreciated.

    Thanks

    Ben

in extreme cases bearings can make bad noises. but it is not very likely for a german car

          Thanks for your thoughts

I rushed home today to take a look at the dust shields. Discovered there aren't any on my car haha

Had a bit more of a poke around in this area and discovered the bolts tht hold the hub in the strut are loose, allowing the hub to rotate out when turning which was forcing the disc against the ball joint!!!!

Have got coilovers coming In a week or so, so going to leave the car parked up until I fit them as the camber wil be out now.

Gnarly! Make sure you fit new bolts with those coilovers. Can't remember the spec but they need to be done up ****ing tight!
