The dealer we bought from have now produced a printout of the servicing.

As there wasn't a receipt as such, I did phone the garage that performed the first service. Their records confirmed the car was serviced as per the printout, so everything is inorder.

I will sleep a lot easier tonight. Thanks again everyone.
Where on earth has that suddenly magically appeared from?!

You don't sound in the least bit suspicious?!

If I went to view a 2014 A3 and it had been serviced anywhere other than Audi - or the seller couldn't provide proof of servicing - I'd just walk away I'm afraid

Currently searching for a 2015 A3 S line as a family car - I will ensure a blank service book is included if the cars don't come with one nowadays!

It does all check out. The place that sold it to us are like a car supermarket, they have a great number of cars passing through. Seems the paperwork wasnt with the car when we bought it, and the salesman had made assumptions.

My reply to this thread should be in "How Crap is Audi Now.. i purchase a new Q3 for the wife in 2014 .. some time later i thought about the cars first service & get a big surprise that "Audi Do Not Provide a Service Book" with my new Q3 ? .. so i asked audi Dealer can i have a service book for my car as it is missing .. Answer was No the audi service history is now all contained within the "Key"... i am the fool to think a service book is essential.
You do not have a ringer other that Audi are conning the new & used customer ..

Like you I'm suspicious of that, how do you interrogate the key if you're in a similar (to above) 'service/ no service' dispute with Audi and don't believe what they say the key is telling them? At least with a stamped book you could do some phoning around.

Indeed. When I sold my S4 at 11 years old it had FASH including a full stamped book, oil changes on average about every 11k before my ownership, one of the main reasons I bought it, and I changed the oil yearly in my ownership. How the hell am I supposed to sell it privately and prove that to a private buyer it has FASH without a book? Stupid!
