    Limited Revs

Hi All, hopefully someone can help me with this, I have fitted AAN from S6 to my 85 Coupe and used S6 wiring loom fuses etc, Problem is it will only rev to about 5200 rpm.
the S6 was a Auto, and the coupe has manual 6 speed 01e box. The ECU has been chipped by 034 motorsport and should red line at 7200 rpm. I believe that not having the auto wiring is causing the problem. Any thoughts. I have spent many hours on google but as usual not a lot of help in this area. Cheers.

Probably not the Auto but read this looking for Auto issues:

Thanks, have gone over this once before and didn't find anything, one other thing that did come up was speed input signal, as I'm not using the S6 speedo cluster I have a resistor giving a load factor for this. I found this some where else. Any thought on that?

Missing VSS from the cluster should just raise a fault code on the ECU, but AFAIK it has no bearing on maximum rpm... it is only used to help the ECU make a smooth transition to / from idle and part-throttle conditions at low vehicle speed.

It would be get to plug in VAGCOM (VCDS) or any code reader in case the ECU is complaining about something else.

Its not clear to me if you have connected something else into the VSS pin of the ECU - if so, then unplug it and see if that takes you anywhere.

The only reason I have for VSS in the ECU is launch control
