He'll no I'm not leaving. There's way too much valuable information on this site. As for that car. I'm not a fan; but good for him for doing what he wants and not giving a **** what others think.

Living in Scotland where at the slightest hint of fog, (yet alone snow) and we salt the roads most of the cars have this 'patina' you speak of. It may look cool on an old side step Chevy pick up but over here at least we would call a car that looked like that a piece of $h!t I'm afraid.
Hell, half the new Fords that are sold up here have that 'patina' straight out of the factory!

To each their owns!
I like all the cars with different paints shown above, woudn´t get one myself but I´m open minded and think art can take many forms, not the barryboys they all look the same but I like to laugh so I like them also because they make me laugh!
I even considered (many years ago) doing a paint to my Avant like one I saw (I´m sure I did although couldn´t find any pictures of it) in the first Volvos 850 avant that entered the BTCC that where silver in the front fading to black in the rear and looked like speed had made the pigment in the paint slip to the back! Would like to see that again if anyone knows or as a picture of it!Comment

I live in Iowa. Rust is inevitable here. So maybe over the years I've just learned to embrace the rust belt? my first vehicle was a horrible rusted out 69 chevy truck. It was absolutely hideous, but to me it was beautiful because it was mine! That rust didn't keep me from smoking those tires though.Living in Scotland where at the slightest hint of fog, (yet alone snow) and we salt the roads most of the cars have this 'patina' you speak of. I think every person on this forum strives to personalize their vehicle in some way or another. Whether it be how you decide to set up your engine bay, paint job, exhaust, etc.To each their owns!

I will be doing all of the above. I'm currently finishing up the underside of my coupe. I've media blasted and painted my subframes with por 15, all delrin and aluminum bushings, I ran some new ss lines w an fittings for fuel lines, and ran nicopp brake lines. I haven't driven my audi for two years and I'm super excited to get it off jack stands and back on the road.
I have vems sitting in a box that I'll be wiring up next, then after I'll be focusing on motor work. I'm having a blast learning. I previously had a 1994 mustang that I slapped a turbo setup on. It was pretty damn quick, but I couldn't drive it in the winter for ****. I also fell in love with group B and couldn't resist getting an audi. It has been a learning experience for sure!

I really just wanted to see pictures lol.
The paint is fine aside from a few spots and some clear coat peeling.
