So Hermes were scheduled to collect a certain ABY carpet from me today... I had provide all dimensions as part of the booking process and the date was set with plenty of notice for a day that I knew I was in all day. Some goon turns up in a family car for the collection, looks at the parcel and says its too big for him to collect - against the rules blah blah.
OK mate - not your fault... I get onto hermes web chat for support and the guy tells me its cos the parcel exceeds their dimensions as per published T's & C's - totally ignoring the fact I gave them all of that info at booking - surely they have a web programmer who can do simple math and run a script to check the dimensions before taking my money...
So then you try to do a cancellation on-line to get a refund and that doesn't work as its still an active parcel - the support guy did it allegedly but I won't see refund for 3-5 days.
Just brilliant - now I have to **** around looking for another courier and commit another day in the house waiting for him.
