Audi i5 vs Volvo i5

Someone I know is taking a look at an S60R as their new car. Not much I know about them but what caught my attention is that they are 2.5 inline 5 Turbo AWD.

Got me thinking why does the Audi one sound so much better? The volvo one sounds supercharged!
Nearly all straight sixes sound brilliant, and I would have thought i5 would be similar

I love how the Audi sounds like part engine part Jet turbine when the turbo kicks in
Even the new 2.5 Audi inline 5 seems to have lost it's amazing sound.

Is the S60R regarded highly on here out of interest? It seems like what the B6 S4 should have been if it was a bit lighter and not well a Volvo.
I dont know what to make of it myself.

The difference in sound is due to the firing order.

The Volvos have drivetrain issues taking big power, which is foreign to us around here lol

That was my initial thought, but the firing order is the same on both:
1-2-4-5-3

Weak AWD system sounds expensive...

Those Volvos are 300bhp standard and dare I say look pretty smart (What have I said I must be getting old!) AWD Change the exhaust!

I've got the much newer (and smaller) V40 T5 which is just 2 litres (4 cyl) but still 250bhp and AWD so fairly quick - under 6 secs 0-60. Sounds rubbish though.
