is this just another way of accessing the GOV UK web site to get the free MOT history info ? or is it more detailed from another source ?

MOT history listing advisories etc going back quite a few years. Learnt mine had dodgy anti roll bars at 120k and loads of other stuff.

Hope you didn't pay for them!

The two parallel sites have been available for 18-24 months (around the time the tax disc was scrapped)

Nope. Just tried a free app.
Didn't known such a thing existed!
Quite handy really.
