uk right driver side light differances

Hi. Can anyone tell me how different the right UK driver RS2 ellipsoid lights are compared to a main land European set of RS2 lights?

I heard that have reflectors that are shaped differently to project the light a certain way but can anyone tell me are they really that off? I don't care if I illuminate the right side of the road more or less if that is the difference.


Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are they not the same fittings as on the S2 avant, with a small lever to change the beam?






I'm sure I read in the handbook for my A6 with HID's that I would need an Audi workshop to adjust the beam for European use REALLY?????

The cut-off is opposite, to give more illumination to the near side rather than right into oncoming drivers eyes:

This is RHD



When you flip the lever to travel abroad it shields the cut-off so the output is flat. It doesn't change them to LHD or vice versa

Completely agree with Error.

As far as I could tell, the reflector is identical and it is only the metal plate in front of the bulb but behind the lense which is different - this is the part which moves when the lever is switched.

You can "convert" from UK spec to Euro spec by removing and refixing the plate to make the beam pattern correct.

I'm not sure if the glass itself is any different - I don't think so...

Only difference between RHD UK and LHD europe elipsoids is the projector unit fitted inside the lamp itself, I purchased new LHD units and coverted them to RHD by changing the projector units in each of the lights for a pair I took out of some UK RHD A6 hella lights. In actual fact the only part that is different is the front lens part which includes the shutter to make the dip beam level.

Yes, somewhere the lens bits are new, the rear silvered parts are not (obviously I used the new rears with the RHD front lenses I fitted).

I'll have a look for them at the weekend if your interested send me a offer via a PM.
