    Insurance Time

Right don't like November as all 3 cars are due their insurance!! The most important one for me is the S2 am just wondering what other people are doing and for the first time am keen on going down on agreed insurance value - whats peoples thoughts please? A few people know my car on here as you know like many others am very proud of it. I would probably class mine as a £10k car and rising enclosed is a photo from earlier in the week of the condition of my S2 probably one of my better shots lol!!

I don't like November as I have my two cars to insurance and tax. The company I was with couldn't offer me an agreed value. Lost my business a few years back coz they don't insurer campervans. So I asked the company who did the van to cover my 2.3 Ng couple. Putting it on classic insurance and I'm not losing my no claims £117.34 The S2 I have got a agreed value of £10k. Have to give them some photos and mileage that was £365.00. Although the excess was £400. So that's a lot. Looking at a lot of S2 prices you would be silly not to up the value. Also I would say if you do have an accident they are more likely to sort the car out than right it off. Anyway good luck with insuring your lovely looking S2. Kind regards Lynn.

H Anthony, I have my S2 insured with Adrian Flux on an agreed value policy. Currently it is on for £10k, but I will be looking to get that closer to £15k -£20k given the current market....
It only costs me £250 for 5k limited mileage.

      Cheers

I changed from Carol Nash who I rated highly. I'm now with Lancaster, 440 for both 7ACQ and the RS2r thing, both 4k miles per year and both agreed value. Nash were wanting 660.

Thanks Lynn I guess it brings out the whole debate how much these cars are really worth I suppose lol!! It's currently insured with Performance direct who value the car at 9k last year and with 6k miles a year at was a huge £120 lol!!

Cheers John I will also give these guys a ring think I might change from 10k value to 15k considering the current state of the car and the amount of money I've ploughed into the car to make it look good as its solid underneath and damn good body wise and wheels to - do you reckon 15k is a fair shout?

I'm not all that up on pricing cars but if 9k last year I would think easy 12k now?
Go for 15 but they may query it, you might have to back it up with bills, detailed photos and whatnot.

I went with Lancaster for my RS2's but with Direct Line for my Beemer who were considerably cheaper than anyone else, don't write them off cos of their silly Pulp Fiction parody adverts, they don't show up on the comparison websites and that may be the reason why, I dunno... But try them at least after you've tried everyone else you might be surprised!!!

Of all people Tesco Bank have provided me with the most satisfactory cover I've ever exprianced, I got a fair payout on my S2 without having to explain that it's not just an Audi 80 Coupe. Plus their call centre is UK based and they seem to employ people with the ability to breath whilst do something else.

I'd at least give them a try and as Charlies says above Lancaster are also very competitive, though I've not had to make a claim with them.

My claim with Lancaster was paid out virtually immediately, though unfortunately I did have an agreed policy of £18k which Captain Hindsight would've told me to update to present market values. Still can't fault them for the fast payout.
