It's also Andy Wilman let loose, which gives it that epic movie feel to the big bucks scenes... The Mustangs coming through the desert convoy, with that music, is beautifully choreographed... And has Wilman written all over it...

Have seen it last night.
Begining....welll its all for bbc to cry and for us to realize how they feel working outside square BBC world.in the short words f u BBC we are better of now.
Show... Nothing changed...clarkson language sharp comment as always,Hammond driving Mclaren...heh they would let him say most of the comments,May same and funny.three of them at the best.
they have done something that they could not achieve in the previous programme.Porsche,mc,ferrari finally let them drive their top three cars...
Some great filming, some great comments i think it like c.h.m finally came out of the box and have done everything the way they always wanted to.
Simply love it.to compare with top gear...well there is nothing to compare.
i´m very happy the 918 went fastest, although he is by far the heaviest and the one with the "low power" in comparism to the other two... Eat this McLaren and Ferrari..
And to be honest it was ridiculous what McL and F moaned about as they wanted to test them all 3 on the old track, maybe some will remember what Ferrari and McL said at that time..
Having been lucky enough to attend the first UK filming in Whitby - it was even more politically incorrect in person, and you are in for a treat with some of the other non studio pieces as they are up to their usual antics but now with the filming on steroids and in 4K defnition.
I do feel that they are still finding their way a bit into it with the audience pieces, and you could tell in the first one and also at the filming - by episode 12 they will have that part sorted I'm sure.
Thing is the format is not much different at all, so if you liked TG you will like this, if you didn't then don't expect to like TGT much.
Clarkson is stlll an a$%e, Hammond is still short and May is still slow, they muck around in cars, act like kids, break stuff and generally upset people and each other.

It's Tv entertainment at it's best, it's meant to be lots of tongue in cheek banter and aggravate a response in the viewer,it certainly hooked you by your negative response!
Hell yeah, bring it on, i could think of far more boring people to have a drink down the pub with.
As for them upsetting each other, Clarkson got sacked and his mates decided to go with him. Great mates in my book who chose to stand by their mate!

Here here!!! Well said that man I've always thought these guys have the best job in the world and I still think that. I wouldn't like to be the man who is responsible for the next Top Gear series lol!!!

Totally agree, but as for the best job bit.... As we all get older, look at some of the Footage they've done to get where they are today, gawd, 'Dave' showed the one on the Arctic (North Pole) Special recently and Clarkson being pushed into a frozen lake... At his age, and, lets be frank, fitness level, it was probably odds on, enough to cause cardic arrest.. Hammond probably had an even worse journey to the pole... May's broken several bones (No horses) and Hammond nearly killed himself in a straight line.... They've been through hours and hours of mud, dirt, dust, heat, cold, discomfort and 'retakes galore' of massively uncomfortable scenes which would see most normal people saying... f)<k this for a game of soldiers...
Whatever they're being paid, it's fine.... Most of us would endure a couple of years of it at best and just think, do you know, I really can't be asked to fall off a Vespa and take half the skin off my leg for someone elses evening entertainment..

That last comment was taken out of context of the rest of the post.
The format of the programme is the same as TG (with the copyrighted bits missing) as is their personas on the programme (oaf, short and slow) which is part of their tongue in cheek banter and camaraderie which includes "upsetting" each other for the purposes of entertainment on the programme. That has nothing to do with what went goes on in the real world off camera. So if you like the format of TG then you will like TGT probably even more because of the production quality of the set pieces alone as they have had more money to spend on them.
If anything the studio piece just needs to improve a bit, which will come in time. I think its a very good start and will likely get even better in future episodes.
