Timing belt and water pump change all marks lined up using correct tools , won't start. Followed elsawin procedure with oe kit and tools .. I'm guessing I'm out somewhere - on timing with the cam or pump poss ? My q is whats my best way to start procedure again. It's a CFCA BDti engine.

Does it crank over? have you tried pulling any fault codes? Try watching the crank sensor in live readings to see if it is reading.

Good news. Do these engines use the usual pins to lock them down.?

Yep crank cam and deisel pump.. Fairly straight forward but manual says difficult to relocate pin in pump sprocket after 2 revolutions so mine was just off - half a hole showing - as per manual pic - and apparently doesn't make any difference to engine, well obviously it does as I could start it , re did with all pins able to relocate after two revolutions - took a bit of jiggling about but started straight up second time.
