    UrS6 - Why 400bhp is enough !

Have a look at this video with Matt Farah and Chris Harris and see do you agree ?

It's why imho 400bhp is enough for an UrS6, 500 /600bhp is not necessary for reliable everyday on the road, always using the car for every journey / every task. So RS2+ spec or a 2871.

    Just sayin................

So dream spec. (in no particular order)

All new / fresh oem bushes, 323mm Porsche front brakes, 300mm rear discs, relayed new fuel pump (044 pump can be annoying after a while in slow traffic), RS2 exhaust manifold, possible two cat bypass pipes, oem system, oem paper air filter, HIDs, 8.5 x 18" rims with 255/35/18 Michelin Pilot Super Sport, KW3 suspension or failing that H&R 29800 with Bilstein sport shocks, Apikol rear arb, Albert's front castor brackets , TFSI coils and loom, Roose boost hoses, new water hoses, New 710N DV, and new N75, new dash bulbs, Boost, oil pressure and A/F gauges in centre vent slots, front engine snubber mount, fresh oem engine and gearbox mounts, reprogamming of the EDL if it was possible or a method of switching a bit more drive to the rear wheels, Recaro seats from an RS2 made to fit, or Pole Position or A8 seats. UrS4 metal intercooler if a custom one couldn't be made to fit with the water radiator and the a/c rad and the Euro front bumper. And one or two other bits again depending on funds but all the while still keeping it 'close' to oem in the feel of it's nvh.

My car is not this spec, but it would be if funds permitted.

If you disagree, tell me why I'm wrong - Happy to learn or be flamed.

400 BHP is enough for even my track car (S2 Coupe) as many a fast car have found out (Evo's, Impreza's, 996 and 997 Porsches, Merc C63 AMG, RS5)
Some of this could be the nut behind the steering wheel tho

I have often been tempted to go for that bit more power (450) but I feel @ 400 the car is good fun but still very reliable (so far), also at @ 400 I do not need an expensive clutch (std. LUK is fine, I do not launch the car though).

My s6 is just over 400hp. It's more than enough!
Pins passengers to their seats. Makes girls' knickers fly off as well...

Given it's stated abilities, I'm don't know why you were selling it !

One interpretation of the UrS "slippery slope"

I've always thought that RS2ing an UrS with a K24-7200 or GT 2871 (and bigger front brakes) is all you really need with an UrS4/UrS6 with AAN. Beyond that, things get nasty cost-wise and reliability wise.

While the video prompted me, I also feel that with some the higher power projects on here it can easily suck one up, as again and I'm keen just to qualify the comment which is that when a car's nvh or power output suspension is too extreme it detracts from the 'pleasantness' of using the car on a daily basis and it makes too many demands on the driver.

A case in point being metal and poly bushes everywhere on all points regardless of whether there is an 'advantage' or not.

              oem is not always bad.

              Just sayin..............

              Peace and love to all.

Personal opinion, I think even in them roads 400 isn't enough if your gonna drive them roads 99% of people would be balls out, not once did they even punish the tyres.
A few pulling away from the porsche that's not really driving for me. I'd want more I think 500hp is more like it but that's my personal opinion

I hear you. From my own perspective it's the instant low down torque 'style' of a fried diesel is what I like for city and suburban driving / don't want to lose. Prefer that over anything more than 350/400 higher up the rev range, but that's just me.

                    It's good to chat.

Only reason that 400bhp is "enough" or "fast" in that comparison is because of the delivery of the power and the gearbox it's mated to.

                        400bhp from a Supercharged 3L V6 with DSG is and always will be faster than 400bhp from a 2.2L I5 with 01e.

Which is why on the subject of fast we aim for a bit more.

I guess it's mostly power vs driveability & reliability. But yeah, getting stuffed by a TDI is not cool... Also, in Latvia, we Audi folk really like to put BMW drivers in their places, as they like traffic light races a lot, and most of them are douches.

This is a case in point where it is too extreme / pita to use as a daily road car.
