    What fits in here?

    Hi Guys

I have a 1995 Audi Cabriolet 2.6. I am looking to fill the gaping hole, with an OEM stereo, please see photo. I purchased a Audi Gamma tape deck off ebay (which didnt work), but it didnt fit in the hole. The stereo was too big. I believe the correct stereo is a Gamma CC, which is a standard DIN size, but they seem to be impossible to find.

Now, I was informed that you can fit the standard Audi 22cm Gamma, Chorus, concert in there with a bit of modification.

Im wondering if this is true and has anyone done this before?

    Cheers

      Thanks Rikki

Yea Ive been to HalFrauds, unfortunately everything is so tacky and LED everything. Its almost impossible to find an after market stereo that looks OEM. Just plain and simple.

Unless somebody could point me towards a simple OEM looking stereo?

The closest thing that merely looks anything like OEM are:

      Clarion FZ102E

      and

      Kienzle MCR 1016BT

Hence im trying to find an OEM stereo, or squeeze one in there.

I have an Alpine unit which can light up in a number of colours but most importantly lights up in a matching red to the rest of the switches and gauges.

Has built in blue tooth and I pod lead and in my opinion looks spot on.

Should have images attached. the in car pic is from a BMW but gives an idea of it at night. Other one is similar to the unit but I think this might be the older one I had on my A6 with my S2 one being a newer generation.

Mine has the square button as blue. can't remember if i can change it but one in pic is red but I like mine in blue with red other buttons. Not very expensive either.

I have a spare Gamma CC somewhere, I'll have a look tomorrow if you're interested
I replaced with a Seat Scala, such as http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2002-SEAT-...4AAOSwUKxYcmMj
Has a full red display, unlike the VW gamma and mini iso for cd/rca etc

I see, I used to have this alpine many years ago, there was also a feature that the entire screen switched off if you didnt touch it for around 10 seconds, which was really nice as you only saw the buttons. It did have a massive blue button, which the colour didnt change, on mine didnt anyway. Thanks for the advice
