  • Subframe Bolt Sizes for ABY coupe?

Before I order all my subframe bushes from Quattro Corner, Pete asked 'what bolt sizes are you using? ' Now I've no idea if they should be 10mm or 12 mm or a mixture of both?
My car is a late '95 model ABY coupe, and I am using a 7a front subframe (spacer needed) and a B2 rear subframe (different tie rods and no ARB).

    Cheers in advance, guys.

If you are using a 7A front subframe I think you will be needing 10mm. I have a 3B and it has 10mm front and back.

It's the holes in the floor that make the difference - they will be M12.

            Thanks guys for replying-
I rang Audi today with my reg/chassis no., and parts guy said rear, all 10mm , but front ..both 12mm and 10mm!
12mm in 'outside' bushes(his words)and 10mm in the 'inside' bushes...I need to go over to my lockup and look at my car and my 'new' subframes to visualise it...(sadly been separated from the beast for too long!!)

Any additional advice/ explanation gratefully received

Audi talking **** about their own products as usual.
ABY front frame M12, rear frame M10. If you are using a 7A subframe you will need to change the bushes as they will have a 10mm through hole and will not work. I assume you will be going for new bushes anyway, but keep in mind
As Mike said the chassis mounting for the front frame on the ABY is the important bit and that is M12.

If you want the same size holes for the 7A subframe as the ABY, you can use the bushings, especially aftermarket, on the 7A and then use the 12mm bolts.

Just bumping the thread, is the elder 3B models always 10mm both front / rear sub?

                      edited: I got a 91' model S2
