    Terraclean- Any opinions?

We took a diesel Motorhome that had some engine issues to have this done last week, and it seems to have made it a little quieter and smoother when cold.
Before I get my 170k mile 3.0 Tdi A6 done- I'm interested in what you lot have to say. (I'm not experiencing any specific problems, but after that sort of mileage, and never had any fuel system cleaning done- surely it can't hurt?)

    Anyone???

Here's my experience from a last August from my thread over on CA.

The car had already been treated to a OEM++ full service a while back having replaced the plugs to NGK iridium, a new MAF and a new set of spark plug leads to replace the old Audi ones to keep the engine electrics in top order. Now that the injectors have been cleaned she feels/drives like a new car. I'm very pleased with the results.

I uploaded the video to Facebook as it was easy. https://www.facebook.com/10000883417...1913693113088/

Never used it myself but I'm sure this kit was used on wheeler dealers on one episode...

I know Wheeler Dealers is not everyone's cup of tea but once in a while they do use some clever kit like terraclean. I think it was an old Jag V8 they did it on with high HC.

It sorted that out quite well.

Sure I see some before and after pics somewhere after they took the head off to inspect after Terra clean and it didn't make much difference this was on an RS4 I think, sure someone on here will remember and post soon

I have to say that the usual crud built up in a tdi after 170k is considerable. I'd be surprised if and chemical will break that down. Plus if it does then it's forced into the intake valves I'd be a little concerned. In my experience the only way to remove tdi crud from inlets etc is elbow grease.

            Terraclean

They use it at a garage I know of and I personally wouldn't recommend using it on a diesel as it seems to cause excessive wear on the injectors . Sure it cleans some carbon from the chambers and frees a sticky injector but I ve had a fair few of the vehicles come back in to me with excessive flow rates on injectors after a while maybe it's just unlucky for them but like said previously you can't be a bit of elbow grease and if it's an injector fault your trying to sort replacement is the better way in my eyes . Petrol cars are a different matter with higher tolerances so guess they get away with them.

I was chatting with one of my lads this afternoon, and he said much the same, but he specifically mentioned the injector pump.

Maybe I'll just chuck a few bottles of Forte in it

I see no reason why it would affect the diesel pump though..
