I went with Adrian Flux at the end of last year 1st agreed valuation with a couple mods and no problems and helpful
Insurance time again...

Small update on this:
A Plan use Markerstudy (same as Sky), so are unlikely to be able to do anything.
Chris Knott wouldn't touch the car, as the bhp increase is too much (120 bhp). Surely advertising modified car insurance means that the car will have been... modified
Anyway, waste of time.
Waiting to hear back from Flux but it's looking like competitive insurance is now NLA, like everything else...

Yeah, but modified car insurance these days seems to struggle coping with "yes but i've installed a 2.5 short blocker stroker engine with custom cams, pistons, crank, exhaust manifold, different wastegate, downpipe and exhaust, inlet manifold, intercooler and the airbox has been replaced with a rather large cone, plus also we have custom mounts install for gearbox, engine, diff, steering rack, snub mount, plus the whole powerflex inventory for wishbones, subframes, arb etc, after market coilovers, top mounts, a large custom porsche brake kit with custom carriers, front and rear, additional handbrake calliper modification at the rear as well for good measure, and now we'll get onto the cosmetic mods..."S2Forum.com AdministratorComment

2 choices
1. declare mods and get bummed
2. dont declare mods and risk getting bummed even more
lose-lose
only advice i have is
1 have a second car.
2. list low milage and this audi as second car.
lots of cheap prices out there that you guys are getting though. if you lived in sunny oldham it aint that cheap.Comment

LOL, to be honest you are probably best suggesting they are all stock parts given their expense from Audi these days, list some example prices off Audi Tradition as a proof point and then let them do the price...then in the event of a write off, you will have the money on an agreed value policy to go on a monster shopping spreeYeah, but modified car insurance these days seems to struggle coping with "yes but i've installed a 2.5 short blocker stroker engine with custom cams, pistons, crank, exhaust manifold, different wastegate, downpipe and exhaust, inlet manifold, intercooler and the airbox has been replaced with a rather large cone, plus also we have custom mounts install for gearbox, engine, diff, steering rack, snub mount, plus the whole powerflex inventory for wishbones, subframes, arb etc, after market coilovers, top mounts, a large custom porsche brake kit with custom carriers, front and rear, additional handbrake calliper modification at the rear as well for good measure, and now we'll get onto the cosmetic mods..."

I have just moved from Footman James to Aplan for my modified RS2. Price with Aplan for 5k miles per year, fully comp, agreed value £40k was less than £300 which is significantly less than I was paying FJ for poorer serviceCheers

It's that time again and Flux have decided to put the premium up 10%... why do we have to play this game every time???
Going to try a plan and speak to a few classic insurers, as that type of policy may be more suited.Cheers'en, AndyC

Try REIS (https://reis.co.uk) - I have the S3 and C5 A6 covered on a multi-car policy for very sensible money (limited miles obviously) with them but easy to extend the S3 for track-day cover if I want as well. The specialise in all sorts of modified, custom & classic cars. I have not asked about agreed value policies but they are really pleasant to deal with... they were referred to me by a non Audi car nut who has used them for several years without any grief.Paul Nugent

Ended up with A Plan.
One thing I noticed was that an AV or classic policy demanded that the car was garaged between 10pm and 6am if at home and WAS NOT INSURED if it wasn't garaged! Having rarely left the car out due to needing the garage, or as I was making an early start, I did challenge that this seemed ridiculous as it was garaged 99% of the time but it seems like another way insurance is getting more complex and trying to get out of paying out, so take care!Cheers'en, AndyC

yeah its been like that on mine for a few years, I did query if it was only when you were at home also and not a blanket restriction in those hours. (it was just when at home)Ended up with A Plan.
