Anybody here suffer from a cracking rear subframe?! Seems guys in the States in their 20V CQ's are having incidences of cracking rear subframes between the control arm attachments. Is this becoming more apparent in the UK & Europe?
This is quite well known on the 20V ur-quattro's. Its apparently the torque of the 20v unit that stresses the subframe. Whereas 10V quattro's don't seem to have this problem.
Most people that have cracked rear subframes are running larger rarb's. I plan to have some strengthening welds and brackets made to keep this from happening.
do u mean the front subframe? which hold the gearbox? if yes i had it once in audi 90 imported from usa it was quattro and i had to replace whole the subframe do to a lot of horrible cracks

My original subframe had no swaybar in the first place, spent most of its life in florida and california, had two cracks in it.
