Audi 80 2.8quattro engine swapping

Hello!

I have a really great oportunity to buy a cheap and a very good condition audi 80 2.8 V6 quattro. I WANt to swap the engine for a AFN engine (1.9 TDI 110 hp). I know it can be done, but i wonder if anyone knows is someone already did something simmilar. The biggest problem would probably be the fuel tank. I know they did a audi 80 1.9 tdi quattro, but i dont know if the gas tank can still be bougt at audi.

This car would be my dream come true, so dont lough please. It is a limo, red, with the sun roof, everything electrical, a/c, small original wing on the boot, plus i have recaro seats, ellipsoids, s2 steering wheel...

did you look for the engine mounts? its difference between the v6 and 4 5 cylinders you have to solder the bracket which will hold the engine mount for the TDI , because the v6 have two removable brackets in the left and right side.

You know what? Such a car does not exist.

Why not drop a 2.5 tdi in?

Better to find out what the swap needs from immobilizer point of view.

hmm what is an immobiliser? no problem with soldering the brackets, we have crashed cars for spares

Ok, after a consult i have decidet to install an 1Z engine, that will be tuned a little.

I have seen an Audi 80 tdi quattro on the Ebay about 3 months ago, so I think they did make some, or someone on Ebay is good with spanner!

IIRC special order car, or something like that.
Also remember that one on fleabay, had pic's put up of the underneath as he had so many people tell him he was incorrect.
