S2 from the Dutch S2POWER forum lost 20HP with an DAHLBACK airfilter .when putting back the original filter he got back his 20HP .btw this happend on a rolling road .

20HP off of how much? How many runs? You can easily lose 20HP on different runs, with the same car.
Maybe it's that tiny filter you get with the Dahlbäck kit.
BTW, that guy won't find the lost power under there.

It is probably worth double checking the results on another car before everyone changes lots of stuff. what filter were you using on the dahlback kit?Greg

It came with a KNN filter donno the model, but it came from DAHLBACK cost :300euro and he lost 20HP ,maybe to much engine heat ,it took place on the rolling road.Originally posted by Greg_S

Next time there is a RR meet, I would be interested in doing a comparison, although I would have to borrow a RS2 airbox. Does anyone have one and is there a RR meet planned?
With mine I asked Dahlback to supply a larger K&N X-Stream cone filter (product number: RX-4990). This K&N has an additional ellement at the top of the filter and should be suitable for in excess of 390bhp, according to Dahlback.

We did a test on my car and Jeffers, with and without filters, on the rollers. His car lost power with his relatively small cone filter - I think it was a k&N type.
My car, with one of the largest ITG foam filters you can get, did the same power with and without.

Surely some consideration / blame must be given to heat soak on the rollers.
Such back to back tests need to be monitoring things like intake air temperature... and some actual logged performance data on a real road would be more meaningful than the partially useful hp figures gleamed from a rolling road.Paul Nugent
