    Virus warning!

Just got this email from my bro who works for an internet trading company and thought I'd better pass on the warning!

    Dear all

    This is not a joke!

Please Be Extremely Careful especially if using internet mail such as
Yahoo, Hotmail, AOL and so on. This information arrived this morning
direct from both Microsoft and Norton.

Please send it to everybody you know who has access to the Internet.

You may receive an apparently harmless email with a Power Point
    presentation "Life is beautiful."

If you receive it DO NOT OPEN THE FILE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, and
delete it immediately. If you open this file, a message will appear on
your screen saying: "It is too late now, your life is no longer
beautiful." Subsequently you will LOSE EVERYTHING IN YOUR PC and the
person who sent it to you will gain access to your name, e-mail and
    password.

This is a new virus which started to circulate on Saturday afternoon.
AOL has already confirmed the severity, and the antivirus software's
    are
not capable of destroying it. The virus has been created by a hacker
    who
    calls himself "life owner."

PLEASE SEND A COPY OF THIS EMAIL TO ALL YOUR FRIENDS and ask them to
    PASS IT ON IMMEDIATELY

    Thanks for that

of course, it could be that this message is, in fact, the "virus" - the message will probably spread as quick as a virus would, which is usually what the virus author is interested in any way i think . Still, if it is genuine then many thanks

    Tim

Yeah I was worried about that too but the email is from the head office of a large worldwide trading organisation so hopefully it's a geniune warning! Just keep an eye out for the said email subject!!

Fair enough but I'm not hoaxing anyone!!! Yes he does work in I.T which is why I believed it to be genuine. Just trying to be helpful but I'm not sure there's any real need for comments like that! I bow to your superior knowledge Don't worry I won't bother you with possible virus warnings again!!

These warning come out more regularly than viruses! I tend to ignore them and make sure my PCs are up to date.
I use McAfee which automatically updates itself on a daily basis. I've never had a virus at work or at home in over 5 years!

                    As do I.

Some people never learn though - some muppet who has been *cough* warned *cough* before sent me one of these yesterday which has been around for five or more years.

They should actually have known better on two grounds: 1. Forwarding it. 2. Forward it to me.

Ck - looking for his lart.
Shocked, exhausted, hosed, bushed, dumped, chipped, mounted, filtered, gauged, packed, intermittantly wiped and braked. I mean broken. Now, about the car...
