    Hi guys,

Am saving up for another audi, So i can buy it out right and afford to run it this time

Was thinking along the lines of an A4 1.8T,

Was thinking of along the lines of kingfisher blue version and then chipped - re-map - exhuast etc

Anyone done this and at what cost

Audiman as your PM inbox is full will post my questions here

After much debate I'm going to buy another audi again but outright.

Was looking at the a4 and love the kingfisher blue colour.

I hear your other half has got one in taht colour, just really wanted to know what mods etc you have been able to do and cost of running the car.

Is it more expensive than the s2 to run?

what bhp have you got out of the car so far?

Cheers for any help or info

Sorry for the delay, been moving house!!!

Yep she has a 1997 A4 1.8T in Kingfisher blue, eng code AEB

All that has been done engine mod wise is an MRC remap and cone air filter. Before the filter was added and running on a low boost chip, we had 190bhp and 288Nm of torque. Torque starts at 2k revs and it pulled hard. I wasnt happy with the top end power so made Mihnea increase the boost at the top end. (Basically told him to push it). This made it feel really strong and torque was even better. Working on the air flow readings it is now about 205bhp. With about 300Nm

The car is ok on fuel, it doesnt get driven gently all the time so it does about 27-28mpg around town. And mid 30's if driven at 85-90mph on the motorway.

Only other mod was some H+R springs that i found in the Audi driver small adds. Only 40 quid! Bargain.

Car has had no reliability probs even tho it has done 115k now, clutch is original and that is holding just fine. Expect plenty of wheelspin in the wet if pedal is prodded too hard in 2nd. Great fun out of roundabouts etc.

The car is totally different compared to stock, it pulls like mad.
Just as a comparison, i drove a customers car (same car/engine etc) with a "super" chip. This did not feel anything near as fast as becky's.

And just to add a little bit, i came against a Scooby in it the other day. It was close but i was pulling away from it

Decat and exhaust is next and that should give it about another 15-20bhp. If you can afford one, get a car with DBW (drive by wire) There is more to be gained from the engine.

Also Tom has she got the 1.8 T sport as I think the normal 1.8T is only 130bhp and the sport is 150bhp or am II getting my wires crossed?

                    Cheers

All 1.8T's are 150 PS minimum. They come in:

150 PS, 155 PS, 163 PS, 180 PS, 210 PS and 225 PS. The A4 1.8T Sport has the same power as regular A4's, differences are in wheels, suspension, bumpers, spoilers and interior.

Thats right sienna. The sport has nicer rims, "sport" suspension, rear spoiler and normally climate control.

I have a 1.8t sport A4 as well, 1997 in midnight blue. At least I know it will start in the morning unlike the coupe. done 124 thousand miles, only slight problem is that the oil pick up seems to be a bit blocked, apparently a common problem with this engine.

It is only 150 brake, not great but am going to keep it stock whilst saving for the s2 as it is a bit understeery as it is, although that might be the nankang special shoes it has on.

overall a great 2nd car, i got 40mpg on the m6 a few weeks ago, normaly 32-34 driving to work etc.
