MOT, tax????

I was meant to tax my other car at the start of this month, however cant find the MOT certificate!!!
Any1 know what happens in this situation? Problem is i dont know where it was last MOT'd cos i bought the car only a month or so ago.......
Is it possible to get a replacement for the illusive documment?
Any tips would be much appreciated.

Contact the previous owner and ask them they must have thier telephone number or address ?

you can get a duplicate if you know where the mot was done and when ,it costs about £10 ,

cool, but the previuos owner was a mate, and he bought the car only 2 months before i got it off him, he cant remember the persons he bought it off!!!!
So the question is now, do i have to get it MOT'd again if he cant find out where it was MOT'd????
Im feeling a dent in the wallet i didnt really need coming on!!!

may have been MOT using the new electronic system, try a local garage, ask 'em to punch in your reg, may work.

Here's a mad idea - get the car MOT'd again ! Surely the money spent is worth the hassle you will save trying to locate the original document...

You can get your tax online if its been MOT'd electronically. Try http://www.vehiclelicence.gov.uk and put in your details and it will soon tell you.

Also if you goto the garage that issued the MOT certificate you should be able to get a duplicate from them

Thats wicked, cheers guys yea it was MOT'd electronically.
Amazing, done and dusted and no running around!!!!
Plus no extra cost of another mot.
